Four Beliefs for Success for Auto Repair Shop Owners

Once you understand where it is you wanna go, you have to believe in it. If you don't believe in where you're going, you won’t give it your focus. You won’t pay attention to it because you don't believe it's there. 

You must believe that where you're going is worth it.

You must make sure you believe in where you're going.

You must believe that YOU can get there.

How often do you watch someone else achieve something and think they're just better than me? They're smarter than me. They have more business sense than me. They have better people than me. They're in a better market than me. It’s not possible here.

You must believe that you can get there. That's super important. You must believe where you're going. You gotta believe that you can get there. You are smart enough! You are good enough! You can do it!

Will you fall while you're doing it? Absolutely! Falling is not an option. Falling is a given. It’s getting up that’s the choice. Listen to that carefully. Falling is a given. We will get knocked down. That's what life does. It knocks us down. And every time it does it makes us better. But getting up is the choice. So, you gotta believe in where you're going. You gotta believe that you can get there.

You must believe in who you're going with.

You must believe in your team. If you set this great big goal and think you need the perfect team to do it and look at your team thinking there's no way, you are in trouble. You will not get to where you want. You will not gonna focus on what you could and should be doing. If you believe that, you won’t bother focusing because it’s just a dream.  You must believe in your team.

You must believe in why you are going there.

You must have a big enough why? That's a big deal. Believe why you're going there. Believe that you're doing this for a bigger purpose and it makes all the difference in the world. Your why is everything.

Once you figure out where you want to go, the goal, the destination then determine why? Why is it important? Because if your why isn't strong enough or powerful enough, it won’t move you.

And it boils down to:

Do you believe in where you're going and that it's worth going there?

Do you believe you can get there?

Do you believe in who you're going with?

Do you believe in why you're going there?

Because ultimately that will determine whether you get there at all.  Don't lie to yourself. Don't fake it out. Don't try to push through. Stop. Figure out what's holding you back. Figure out what your concerns are and then start to deal with them.
